Porcher Industries, lead manufacturer of technical textiles and thermoplastic composite solutions, keeps expanding on the US automotive market by closing on a new dedicated plant in the United States.

The purchase of the Virginia-based factory through Porcher Industries's US subsidiary, BGF industries Inc.,will help satisfy the increasing demand from the automotive industry's OEMs.

The new plant, that will be operated by BGF industries, is located on a 63-acre plot in Altavista, Virginia. The site provides the scope to expand the existing 144,000 sq. ft. facility further, to meet the needs linked to the forecasted continued growth and other opportunities that will arise.
Transfer of  machinery and equipment that include state of the art die cutting and CNC machines as well as welding and part-forming work centres is already under way. The plant is expected to be fully operational within Q1 2018. The acqusition has opened up over 40 new positions in addition to the existing operatives and managers from the site's previous owner.

For André Genton, CEO of Porcher Industries: "The new Altavista plant gives us a great opportunity to move our production to a state of the art facility, thus addressing the growing demand for our products and demonstrating a clear commitment to our customers."
